Theology for Troublemakers – starts October 11

Theology for Troublemakers: Faith that Won’t Sit Still for Justice Seekers

Sundays, October 11 – November 15
11:15 am – 12:15 pm, Hallman Room 305

What can we learn from the faith traditions that have shaped movements for justice? Over six sessions, we’ll explore how various faith traditions from Islam and Buddhism to the Bahá’í Faith and Black liberation theology understand dignity, community, and liberation, listening to voices from within each tradition and being honest about how religion has also supported oppression. We won’t claim to speak for anyone’s faith. We’ll listen with curiosity and humility, then bring what we learn back to our UU commitments to pluralism, covenant, and justice. Come to learn, be challenged, and build community. No expertise needed, just a willingness to read and show up.
