End of Year News from Scouts BSA Troop 1899

Scouts BSA Troop 1899 presented Eagle Scout Awards to Lénou Bouillon and Noa Cardona. Eagle Scout is the highest and most prestigious award presented by BSA. Advancement to Eagle culminates in completion of a community service project managed by the scout. Lénou and Noa are our troop’s 2nd and 3rd Eagles since our charter early last year.

Lénou’s Eagle project was for the Society of St. Vincent De Paul Diocesan Council of Dallas, Inc. a faith-based volunteer organization that offers direct aid to those in need across nine counties in North Texas. They have several thrift stores, and they use the money earned to support their programs. To help with their mission Bouillon built 8 mobile carts with 4 shelves, and wheels.

Cardona’s Eagle project was to supply Re-entry care packages for clients of the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office.  Her team gathered items and assembled care packages for people who are being released from jail who have limited resources.  The packages included new clothing and personal hygiene items.

Cub Scout Pack 1899 awarded the Arrow of Light to graduating 5th grade Webelos Corrine (Winnie) Campo, Levi Gruber, and Ben Lutz. The Arrow of Light is cub scouting’s highest award, earned by completing multiple badges and completing community service.
