DRUUMM Installation of 2026 -2027 Steering Committee – August 25
Leadership is not solitary—it is shared.
On Tuesday, August 25, DRUUMM will gather for one of our meaningful celebrations of our year: the virtual installation of our 2026–2027 Steering Committee.
This is more than a change in organizational roles. It is a sacred and joyful occasion when we surround those who have answered the call to service, connect today’s leaders with the generations who came before them, and renew the covenant between our leadership and our wider community. Will you join us?
Tuesday, August 25, 2026
8:00–9:00 p.m. Eastern
Online / RSVP for Zoom
Open to all
The evening will include music, chalice lighting, prayer, reflections from DRUUMM elders, personal testimonies from our incoming leaders, and words of blessing from beloved DRUUMM chaplains and ministers, including Rev. Claudia Jiménez, Rev. Shari Quan, and Rev. Darrick Jackson.
Together, we will celebrate:
****Tomi Fatunde (First Church member!), President
Yvonne DuVal, First Vice President
Alana Rodriguez, Secretary
Deborah Tierney-Walker, Treasurer
Rev. Karishma Gottfried, Outreach Coordinator
Devin Dadah, Outreach Coordinator
Karin Lin, Communications Coordinator
Rev. Angeline Jackson, General Assembly Coordinator
Shannon Harper, General Assembly Coordinator
Rev. Michael Crumpler, UUA Liaison
Each leader will share something of the hope, legacy, inspiration, or spiritual calling they are carrying into the year ahead. We will also hear the wisdom of elders and former leaders who helped build and sustain DRUUMM—often with limited resources, abundant corazón, and an enduring commitment to our people.
Installation reminds us that leadership is not simply a title. It is service, relationship, courage, and trust. It is also a promise that none of us has to lead alone.
Whether you are a longtime DRUUMM member, newly connected to our community, a Unitarian Universalist colleague, or simply someone who wants to witness and encourage BIPOC leadership, you are warmly invited. Come experience what it looks like when a community gathers to bless its leaders, honor its ancestors, and imagine a multicultural and multigenerational future together.
