Gratitude and Best Wishes to Brennan Greef, departing Director of Adult Ministries

After 4 years of serving First Unitarian Church of Dallas as Director of Adult Ministries & Leadership Development, Brennan Greef is departing the church staff to pursue another professional opportunity at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Brennan says, “Serving our congregation as a staff member has been an enormous honor. I feel deep gratitude for the relationships I’ve made and have a limitless appreciation for this community. Learning, transforming, celebrating, mourning, adapting, laughing, supporting, and loving alongside the people of First Unitarian has been the greatest of gifts.”

Brennan joined the church staff at the height of the COVID pandemic, jumping in enthusiastically at a time of unprecedented changes to how we do church. She has skillfully and lovingly led our faith development programs for youth, young adults, and adults as we emerged from that time and has built them into vibrant ministries that are stronger than ever. She has empowered and equipped leaders of all ages – from YRUU to Adult Ministries to the Faith Forward Spiritual Leadership Path – to serve our church, Unitarian Universalism, and the world. She has been beloved by her church staff colleagues for her collaborative spirit, big heart, generosity, enthusiasm, sense of humor, ability to make things happen, and the way in which “she makes everyone feel valued and [looks] for ways we can work together to be stronger as a whole.”

While Brennan’s time on the staff is coming to a close, First Unitarian Church of Dallas remains her family’s church community, so you will see her around on Sundays. Please join us in expressing your gratitude to Brennan for all she has given to our church!
