Navigating Grief: Healing from Loss | A Testimonial from David Schulze
Navigating Grief: Healing from Loss
Tuesday evenings, October 17 – November 21
7 – 8:45pm on Zoom
In this video, David Schulze, a member of First Unitarian Church in Dallas, shares his experience with the Navigating Grief class. After facing multiple losses in his life, including retirement, his father’s illness and passing, and the sudden loss of his beloved pet, David felt overwhelmed and alone. His friends from the church suggested the Navigating Grief class.
The class showed David he was not alone in his grief, providing a supportive community of individuals going through similar struggles. It also gave him the tools to express his grief and ask for the support he needed. As an artist, he discovered a way to channel his emotions through art, finding solace in the process. David acknowledges that his grief hasn’t disappeared, but the class has given him the means to move forward, ask for help, and speak about his feelings.
The class also helped him integrate into the church community, revealing the soft, personal work of pastoral care and strengthening his bond with the church. David’s story reminds us that, even in the depths of grief, there is hope and support within our community.
The next cycle of Navigating Grief starts on Tuesday, October 17. It is a 6-week virtual workshop, held on Tuesdays from 7 – 8:30pm on Zoom. Details and registration can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/navigatinggrieffall23
