Visions of Solidarity: A Listening Session hosted by UUs for Justice in the Middle East
Sunday, June 14
12:30 – 2 pm, Don Krehbiel Music Center
As the group begins planning for next year’s activities, it wants to hear from those who have taken the time to attend and support its events or who follow the group.
Using a structure that encourages genuine sharing and deeper listening among participants, everyone will have the chance to briefly express their experiences of the group and of current events, and to explore how this group can support humanitarian and activist hopes moving forward during this time of injustice, grief, and resistance here and abroad.
Input will be welcomed but not required in a small “listening circles” format. Most people who participate in these kinds of events find them a meaningful opportunity for connection. The group needs and values participants’ perspectives and encourages attendance. Come as you are—these are hard times, and the purpose of this event is not just to inspire the next year of activism, but to give everyone a chance to be held and sustained in community even as they see or experience significant loss and challenge.
Those who feel called to participate in more specific visioning and planning can let the organizers know before or after this event. The group will put together its activities for the coming academic/church year (September–June) in a future meeting.
Snacks will be provided! Feel free to bring something to share if you feel inclined.
