UUAI will host Michael Ignatowski who will discuss “Enlightenment 2.0”

Rapid advances in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, climate engineering, and other powerful technologies are reshaping society at extraordinary speed. These changes offer immense promise—but also serious risks that could destabilize communities and nations. Mike Ignatowski will explore why we need new ways of thinking and a renewed moral vision grounded in wisdom, cooperation, and shared responsibility. In his recent book, “Navigating Our Future Challenges”,  he calls this needed framework Enlightenment 2.0: a hopeful path centered on stewardship, responsible innovation, and the common good.

About the speaker

Michael Ignatowski recently retired as a Senior Fellow from the AMD Research organization after a long career in computer hardware design.  He lives in Austin, and currently attends the University of Texas as a Tower Fellow. Mike is now pursuing an encore career studying and writing about the impact of technology on society.
