There are many opportunities for people of all ages to learn and grow spiritually at First Unitarian Church of Dallas. We believe that no person stops growing, and so we offer learning opportunities for you across the lifespan.

Our lifespan faith development programs help participants to:

  • Experience a sense of the sacred
  • Develop an understanding of our religious heritage
  • Learn what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist
  • Respect the religious traditions of others
  • Clarify personal religious values
  • Express religious convictions through action

At First Unitarian, opportunities for connection and education extend far beyond the classroom.

On any Sunday you might find the preschoolers singing songs about kindness, the 2nd graders engaging with a story about loss and bereavement, the 5th graders discussing a story from the Quran, the 8th graders learning about responsibility in a lesson from our progressive sexuality education program, the high-school youth raising money for the local homeless shelter, and adults exploring spiritual practices together.

Our programs incorporate social justice activities, worship, service and learning trips, fellowship, and fun.

Sunday classes are open to all, while other classes are offered on weeknights. Check the church calendar or subscribe to the Dallas Unitarian Weekly Enewsletter for information on upcoming classes.

Volunteers

Volunteers lead our congregation’s lifespan programs. Our volunteer teaching faculty is diverse: single people, young adults, retirees, parents, members of the Board of Trustees, and LGBTQ congregants have all been trained for this special role. Teaching is an opportunity not only to nurture and inspire those in your class, but also to deepen your own faith.
