She was an LGBTQIA+ icon, even secretly participating in (and losing) a drag Dolly look-a-like contest. However, her greatest impact may have been in her philanthropy. Through the Imagination Library, Parton helped place millions of books into the hands of children worldwide, fostering a love of reading and learning.
