Sunday, October 4, 1 pm – Room 303 & Zoom

Join Rev. Dr. Daniel Kanter for a 3-session book study. Rev. Kanter will send assignments prior to sessions. Participants will need to purchase John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty. Space is limited, registration is required.

On Liberty, published in 1859 by John Stuart Mill, is a foundational text in political philosophy that argues for individual freedom against the power of the state and the “tyranny of the majority”. Mill’s central argument, the harm principle, states that the only justification for interfering with an individual’s liberty is to prevent harm to others, emphasizing the importance of individuality, free speech, and self-expression as essential for human flourishing and the pursuit of higher pleasures.
