In Loving Memory of Karen Lewis – memorial on Saturday, August 8

It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude that we remember Karen Lewis, whose 22 years of dedicated service in the Religious Education Department of First Unitarian Church of Dallas touched the lives of countless children, youth, families, volunteers, and staff.

Karen brought to her work a rare combination of compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the values of our faith. For more than two decades, she helped create a welcoming and nurturing environment where young people could grow, learn, ask questions, and discover their own paths.

Through changing generations, Karen remained a constant and caring guide. She invested herself wholeheartedly in the life of this congregation, building relationships that lasted for years and creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. Her dedication helped shape the Religious Education ministry into a place of belonging, curiosity, and community.

Karen’s legacy lives on in the many lives she influenced and in the spirit of love and service she brought to her work every day. We give thanks for her faithful ministry, her friendship, and the countless ways she enriched First Unitarian Church of Dallas.

As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well lived and a legacy of service that will continue to inspire us for years to come. Karen will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

A memorial will be held in the First Unitarian Church of Dallas Sanctuary on Saturday, August 8 at 11 am. Childcare will be available during the service. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Karen Lewis Memorial Fund.
