We had a great time at this event last month with lots of fun and great conversations while making sandwiches and bagging supplies! One First Unitarian volunteer has called Feed the City “the perfect volunteer opportunity for families.” Everyone at the location made 5,740 sandwiches combined, and we had 11 First Unitarian volunteers there.

Come help us top it with another fun, upbeat morning of service. Each volunteer, if able, brings supplies that will feed at least 30 food-insecure individuals, so it’s easy to make a big impact. Please come with whatever supplies you can — every contribution helps.

This Frisco location keeps great music playing the whole time—fast, easy, and a great way to start your Saturday.  

Special for this month:
We’ll have brand-new First Unitarian Community Service t-shirts to give away to volunteers. Please list your t-shirt size in the comments on the event in Realm so we can set one aside for you.

Kid-friendly & flexible:
Kids can be runners (restocking tables if slots are available) or help make sandwiches—whatever they prefer. It’s also great for seniors and anyone looking for an easy way to help. Each volunteer’s supplies will help feed around 30 food-insecure people, so every set of hands makes a big impact.

What to bring (enough for ~30 meals per volunteer, if able):

• 2 loaves sliced sandwich bread
• 1–2 pkgs deli-style turkey, chicken, or ham (pre-packaged)
• 1 pkg sliced cheese
• Small bottle yellow mustard
• Sandwich bags (zip preferred)
• 1 bag chips (bulk) & 1 bag tangerines (e.g., Cuties)

Logistics:

• Parking fills up early—you’ll likely need to use the nearby parking garage.
• I’ll arrive early to save seats for everyone who RSVPs.
• I’ll post where we are once I’ve grabbed a table—text me if you don’t see me; it’s a big venue. I’ll send my number to everyone who RSVPs.
• Easy to get to: right off the Dallas North Tollway near the Cowboys practice facility, with light traffic on Saturday mornings.
