Join Cub Scout Pack 1899

Do you have a child who is interested in learning more about being a Scout?

We presently have 20 adult leaders and 35 youth registered between our church-sponsored Cub Scout Pack 1899 and Scouts BSA Girl Troop 1899. The units include members from the church, as well as families from the broader community who seek a welcoming and inclusive scouting experience. This will be the 9th year the pack has been in existence and the 4th year for our troop.

Troop 1899 is proud to have awarded five of the prestigious Eagle Scout awards to young women just last year. The troop organizes camping experiences including climbing, zip lining, kayaking … and solar eclipse viewing at Palo Duro Canyon! Community service has included assistance with National Night Out, in addition to community Eagle service projects.

Pack 1899 hosts family campouts (one each in the spring and fall) and goes on lots of hikes, as well as launching rockets and holding a Pinewood Derby race. The cubs get real life experience with subjects as diverse as first aid, physical fitness, and Leave No Trace.

We welcome any new families who are interested in learning more about scouting at First Unitarian.
