Video: Piano & Organ Recital with Grant Wareham, new Director of Music

On Thursday, June 6th, First Unitarian Church of Dallas hosted a special Piano and Organ Recital with Grant Wareham, to introduce him to our congregation as our new Director of Music.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Grant holds a Master of Music (MM) degree from the Yale University Institute of Sacred Music and School of Music and a Bachelor of Music (BM) degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. He also studied choral conducting at Messiah University. He has served in Lutheran, Episcopal, Presbyterian, and Roman Catholic churches, but his values closely align with those of our church, and he is eager to become a part of our progressive faith community as he serves among us.  Grant has a deep understanding of the value of quality music in worship and in the life of a congregation.  In his spare time, Grant enjoys flying on his home flight simulator with his trusty co-pilot, a Labrador mix named Artemis. 

Grant’s first day of employment will be in late July, in time for Ingathering and the new church year.
