Texas UU Justice Ministry Legislative Action Day – March 17

Join Us for Legislative Action in Austin!

The Texas Legislature meets only once every two years, making now the time to act! We have a unique opportunity to raise our voices and make an impact on issues that matter to Texas families.

Why Now?

The Texas Legislature operates on a biennial schedule, meaning this is our chance to show up, speak out, and influence policy before the next session in 2027. Critical issues are on the table, and progressive voices must be heard.

Why You?

Your story and experience contribute in a unique way to the movement for justice. Whether you’re passionate about reproductive justice, immigrant rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, climate justice, public education, true religious freedom, or other social justice issues, your voice matters. If you’re new to advocacy, don’t worry—training and preparation are available for all experience levels!

Why We Act: The Power of Showing Up

Remember why we act, in Austin and here at home. Progressive people of faith are called in this moment to be clear that the issues we support — reproductive justice, immigrant rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, climate justice, support for public schools and true religious freedom, and much more — are important to Texas families. There is strength in numbers that grows when we each show up – YOUR presence matters! Our public witness up also helps people see they’re not alone. There is power in coalition, and in voicing our shared values: Read about the Texas Impact 2025-26 legislative agenda, approved by the Texas Impact board, which includes TXUUJM Executive Director Rev. Erin Walter. More to come!
