Over 200 people attend Music for Humanity, a celebration of Arabic art, music, & culture

On Saturday, May 15th, First Unitarian Church of Dallas and UUs for Justice in the Middle East hosted Music for Humanity, a multigenerational, multicultural event that welcomed all into an experience of beauty and joy through traditional Arabic music and art.

This event welcomed folks from all over the DFW metroplex to witness the debut of the Dallas Middle Eastern Ensemble featuring Palestinian vocalist and humanitarian Nisreen Hajaj, Jordanian vocalist and actress Suhair Odeh, and Jordanian Maestro Omar Abbad who directed the diverse, talented ensemble of musicians. The reception included treats from DFW Gourmet Bakery and several artists including calligrapher Nimer Oweis and visual artist Melisa Gerecci, who created the poster artwork for the event.
