From Rage to Joy: Racial Equity Task Force Circle of Trust – starting October 6th
Experience spiritual deepening through engagement with the works of celebrated Black authors and leaders
First Sundays, October 2024 – May 2025
11:15 AM – 1:15 PM, 3rd floor Hallman
From Rage to Joy is an 8 session series that uses the Circle of Trust process for spiritual formation. Developed by Parker Palmer through the Center for Courage and Renewal, a Circle of Trust fosters a special kind of community whose singular purpose is to support the inner journey of each person in the group. We will meet monthly to explore universal themes and will use poetry and short narratives, largely written by black authors, as catalysts for the deep inner work we are called to do as we discern and claim our place in bringing about a better world.
It is important to say this is not a discussion group or educational series. We will learn from each other but the primary purpose of the offering is for participants to gain a greater understanding of who they are and who they are called to be.
The series will meet the first Sunday of each month beginning October 6 from 11:15am – 1:15 pm. on the third floor of the Hallman Building. Topics to be explored include Lament, Fear, Rage, Power, Justice, Repair, Rest and Joy.
