First Church Staff attends Louise B. Raggio Lecture featuring Amal Clooney

Our First Church ministers and Jean Ann Powers, our Director of Pastoral Care, had the opportunity to attend “A Conversation with Amal Clooney” – this year’s Louise B. Raggio Lecture at the SMU Dedman School of Law.

This lecture series honors and celebrates Louise Raggio, who was a pillar of First Church, for whom the memorial garden is named. We remember Louise for her unwavering support of women’s rights, including her major influence in passing the Texas Marital Property Act of 1967, which gave married women the legal right to own property.
