Serve your community and bond with your family and other First Unitarian members by participating in a Feed the City sandwich-making event, hosted by Tango Charities. This is a fun and meaningful opportunity for all ages to help provide meals to those in need across the Dallas area.
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
The program starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. with clear instructions from the event leaders.
What to Expect:
Volunteers will gather to make sandwiches, assemble snack bags, and package everything for distribution to local shelters and service organizations.
Adults typically make sandwiches, while kids often enjoy being “runners” who bring supplies to each table.
Kids are also welcome to help with sandwich-making if they prefer—there’s a role for everyone!
Important Information for Families:
All ages are welcome.
A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 18.
For every five children under 17, there must be at least one adult.
Events last 90–120 minutes, but 3 hours of service credit is given to account for time spent shopping for supplies.
If you need service hours verified, the Tango Charities event leader will sign your form or provide one on-site. Forms will not be signed after the event.

Supplies to Bring (enough to make 25–35 sandwiches per volunteer):
2–3 loaves of sandwich bread (avoid crusty bread)
1–2 packages of sliced turkey, ham, or chicken
1–2 packages of sliced cheese
1 box of Ziploc-style sandwich baggies
Chips
A bag of tangerines or miniature oranges
1 squeezable mustard bottle
