Join First Unitarian’s Community Service group for a fun, upbeat morning serving with Tango Charities’ Feed the City – Frisco! Volunteers of all ages come together to assemble sandwiches and snack bags for those in need in the Dallas area.
What to expect:
This location always plays upbeat music, creating a high-energy, positive atmosphere—it’s a lively and fun way to start your weekend!
It’s a kid-friendly event—many children love being “runners” who bring supplies to tables, while adults typically assemble the meals. Kids are also welcome to help make sandwiches if they prefer.
One of our church members called it “the perfect family volunteer event.”
It’s also great for seniors and those looking for a meaningful way to give back in a short amount of time.
Each family or volunteer brings supplies that will feed at least 30 food-insecure individuals, so it’s easy to make a big impact.
Special notes:
Group leader Lance Price will arrive early to save seats for all who RSVP and will provide his cell number to everyone who RSVPs. They often make at least 5000 sandwiches at this location, Please feel free to text Lance if you don’t see the group when you arrive.
If your child would also like to be a runner, please post in the comments so we can help coordinate.
What to bring:
Please bring enough to prepare 25–30 meals, such as:
2 loaves of sandwich bread (avoid heels)
1 package of deli-style turkey, chicken, or ham (pre-packaged, not from the deli counter)
1 package of sliced cheese
1 small bottle of yellow mustard
1 box of sandwich bags (zip-style preferred)
1 bag of chips (bulk, not individually wrapped)
1 bag of tangerines or small oranges (e.g., Halos or Cuties)

Why join us:
Feed the City events happen monthly and rotate across Dallas and surrounding suburbs.
It’s a great way for families, individuals, and older adults to serve together, build community, and help others in a hands-on, joyful environment.
We hope to see you there—and don’t forget to bring your good energy and sandwich-making spirit!
🧡 Wear your First Unitarian T-shirt if you have one!
