Hollifield is Ora Nixon Arnold Professor of International Political Economy in the Department of Political Science and Director of the Tower Center for Public Policy and International Affairs at SMU. \nA scholar of international and comparative political economy\, Hollifield has written widely on issues of political and economic development with a focus on migration and citizenship. His recent books include Controlling Immigration\, Understanding Global Migration\, Migration Theory: Talking Across Disciplines\, and Pathways to Democracy.

Dr. Young at 12:30pm in Channing Social Hall for a discussion and deeper exploration of his new book. \nThe $30 registration fee includes a copy of the book as well as lunch from Roly Poly. Please arrive early to check-in\, get your book\, and grab lunch prior to the 12:30pm presentation start time. \nRev. Dr. John L. Young\, a Kansas native\, has served churches in Chicago\, New York City\, Bloomington\, IN\, Paramus\, NJ (where Rev. Kanter’s family were members of his church)\, Sacramento\, and Jacksonville\, FL. He has been a Harvard Fellow\, and an adjunct professor at the University of North Florida\, where he taught courses in nonviolence\, the truth and reconciliation process (with Archbishop Desmond Tutu)\, liberal religion\, and how to combine activism with personal spiritual practice.
