SUMMARY:Divine Intervention in a Post-Modern World with special guest Cameron Young
DESCRIPTION:With many of our foundations in reason and Enlightenment-era thinking\, Unitarian Universalists often struggle with mystery. We’re often averse to things we might perceive as stories and beliefs that present as “supernatural.” But what if “real” and “not real” is a false binary? Perhaps we’re not asking the right questions when it comes to grappling with the unexplainable. \nAbout Cameron Young (they/them) \nCameron is a lifelong Texan and Unitarian Universalist- prior to assuming the position as Lead for the UUA Southern Region Congregational Life staff\, Cameron worked as field staff since 2019. Before joining the UUA\, Cameron served as a lifespan religious educator in Fort Worth\, Texas. Cameron has a Bachelor of Music from Louisiana State University and a Master of Divinity at Brite Divinity School where they graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the Sexual and Gender Justice certificate and the prestigious Walker Preaching Scholarship- they are currently a candidate for UU Ministry. A professional musician and classically trained singer\, Cameron has performed in numerous operas and musicals\, is a member and co-founder of the singing group Uptown Carolers and recorded with Grammy award winner Leon Bridges on his debut album. In their spare time\, Cameron is an avid traveler\, diehard fan of DFW sports teams\, and devoted coffee drinker. \nCameron Young is preaching\, music provided by acclaimed organist Ken Cowan. \nWorship at 9:30am and 11am CST in-person or online • 7:00pm ONLINE ONLY \n\n

SUMMARY:Ingathering Sunday: Liberating Faith | Rev. Dr. Daniel Kanter
DESCRIPTION:Ingathering is our kick–off to the church year. Let’s come together to renew our bonds and celebrate the journey ahead. \nLiberating Faith\nLiberation begins with the belief that another world is possible. It takes root whenever people find the strength to resist injustice\, as well as the willingness to continue learning. Our Unitarian Universalist faith calls us to live in ways that make freedom more real for everyone\, everywhere.  \nOur 2026–2027 theme year\, Liberating Faith\, opens the door to that sacred work. Throughout this year\, we will develop the spiritual tools needed to break free from fear and assumption so that we can live more authentically\, seek reconciliation where there is division\, and help create communities where every person can flourish.  \nWe start on the path toward liberation by taking stock of what is true about who we are individually\, but we do not stop there. As we grow into being more honest and courageous individuals\, we will become better neighbors\, better friends and better co-builders of beloved community.   \nRev. Dr. Daniel Kanter is preaching\, music provided by the Sanctuary Choir and Festival Brass \nWorship at 9:30am and 11am CST in-person or online • 7:00pm ONLINE ONLY

SUMMARY:Power of the Unseen | Liberating Faith | Rev. T. J. FitzGerald
DESCRIPTION:Liberation doesn’t happen overnight. Much of what holds us back remains inside us. We talk about how to be free of old ideas and know liberation.  \nRev. T. J. FitzGerald is preaching.Music by Kristen Van Cleve\, Violin.\nWorship at 9:30 am and 11 am CST in-person or online • 7:00p m ONLINE ONLY \nThis sermon is part of our Liberating Faith series:  \nA liberating faith requires the willingness to challenge what has been taken for granted. \nOur theme year kick-off series is an overview of the foundations of a faith that encourages questioning; one that challenges assumptions and is open to the unfolding of truth. We will explore why a liberating faith is important\, how un-examined beliefs and fears affect our lives\, and ways in which courageous Unitarian Universalists throughout history worked to expand freedom and how we can continue that work today.
