Adult Protective Services Gift Drive
This year First Unitarian Church of Dallas is again planning our work with the caseworkers with the Texas Department of Aging and Disabled Services to fulfill holiday gift wishes for adults in the care of the State of Texas. For over twenty years we have supported these individuals who are unable to care for themselves and with the assistance of their caseworkers, have met their holiday gift wishes.
Our gift drive is a hybrid of ornaments selected after church services in Channing and online selections through Sign Up Genius. Ornaments will be available after church at the Community Services table in Channing Hall beginning on November 26th. This will be done with half of the gift requests we have received. The other half have been posted on-line at the link below. After you select a wish list, please click “Save & Continue” at the bottom of the screen to add your name and contact information.
As we have done in the past, all gifts must be returned, wrapped and securely tagged, to the Community Services table on or before Sunday, December 17th.
Donations are also going to be accepted from Church members. These funds will be used to purchase gift cards that caseworkers can use to buy gifts for their clients. Donations for this effort will be accepted here. Just select “Adult Gift Drive” in the “Fund” drop down menu.
Checks can also be mailed to First UU at 4015 Normandy Ave., Dallas, TX 75205. Please make the checks out the First Unitarian Church with Adult Gift Drive in the memo line.
Please call Jennifer Wichmann at 214-642-7685 if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in our hybrid gift drive for these special adults during this holiday season!
