Caring for one another
We maintain structures that support our veteran members, integrate new members, care for members when they are in need, and empower and equip members for ministry within the church and the community.
Our Plans- Call a third minister in 2008 to increase our worship, preaching and teaching capacity, and oversee pastoral care programs.
- Improve our website to facilitate better communication and virtual community development.
- The Chart and Compass Fellowship Team identified two initiatives to welcome new members, a mentoring program and welcome column in the DU. Like other Chart and Compass initiatives, as these become part of the fabric of the operations of the church, the execution of the programs becomes the responsibility of an on-going, standing church committee or a staff member. In this case, the Membership Committee has assumed responsibility for these newcomer initiatives.
- A Minister of Pastoral Care was hired in January 2008 to oversee and further develop pastoral care programs for our church, and to increase our worship, preaching and teaching capacity. Xolani Kacela was hired in a staff minister capacity to serve for up to two years, during which time a search committee will go through the formal process for calling a permanent Minister of Pastoral Care.
