Theology of Peacemaking
Ed Stone
This session featured William Schulz with a Charlie Clements rebuttal. Shultz discussed his experiences in Darfur, and pointed out that retaining human dignity sometimes requires fighting back. In extreme situations like that in Darfur, he argued, attempting to disengage the “combatants” without establishing justice amounts to collusion with the aggressor. I have never seen Schulz this impressive.
Lessons Learned: This might be an interesting contrarian view for our Peacemaking group (Ian and Jenny Hunter) to consider. |
